Q. What is the AMS Day of Giving?
The AMS Giving Day is the Archdiocese's annual 24-hour giving campaign that inspires AMS supporters to come together and provide essential funding for current and future programs and initiatives that support Catholic service members to grow in their faith. This annual event shines a spotlight on programs the AMS manages and creates a sense of communal unity centered in philanthropy and almsgiving.
Q. When is it?
Giving Day will take place on July 21, 2020.
Q. What forms of donations are accepted?
MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express donations can be made on the AMS Giving Day site. Gifts of checks or cash can be sent directly to the AMS at the following address:

Please include a note with the donation or on the memo line indicating that the gift is intended for the AMS Giving Day.
Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift if donating online. An acknowledgement letter will be mailed to those who donate via check or cash.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation for online gifts.

Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?
Your support during AMS Giving Day will offset the majority of the costs participants may incur while attending the Young Adult Symposium, along with supporting other important initiatives to assist young adults in the military to grow in their Catholic faith.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely – the AMS Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company that has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through GivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
Q. Can I make a gift by phone?
Yes. If you would like to make a gift by phone on or before July 21, please call (202) 719-3622 and mention the Day of Giving to ensure your gift is counted towards the success of this campaign.
Q. Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, your gift is entirely tax-deductible. You will receive an email confirmation or an acknowledgement letter that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes.
Q. Does it cost anything to give through Giving Day? How much of my donation will the AMS receive?
There is a 3.5% processing fee and a 2.5% (+ $.30) bank fee for donations made using all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express). You have the option to cover these costs in addition to your gift.
Q. What if I already made a gift to the AMS this year?
Thank you for supporting the AMS in her mission to serve those who serve! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on July 21st. We also need your help to promote the AMS Giving Day to others. We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Ambassador Toolkit on the site.
Q. Can I help promote Giving Day?
Please do! We encourage you to share the images and messages that are located in the Ambassador Toolkit. Send an email to friends, post on your Facebook page, tweet, blog, etc. It's all encouraged!
Q. Can I use my employer's matching gifts funds?

Q. How will the donation be reported on my credit card?
Gifts made on the AMS Giving Day will appear on donors' credit cards as Archdiocese for the Military Services.
