Q. What is AMS Day of Giving?
The AMS Giving Day is the AMS’ annual 24-hour giving campaign that inspires supporters to come together and provide essential funding for current and future programs and initiatives that help Catholic service members grow in their faith. This annual event shines a spotlight on programs the AMS manages and creates a sense of communal unity centered in philanthropy and almsgiving.
This year, the AMS Day of Giving will focus on supporting the Missionary Initiative. This initiative aims to help Catholic faith communities in military installations by fostering a sense of belonging and inspiring missionary discipleship among young adults in the military
Q. When is AMS Day of Giving?
The AMS Giving Day will take place on July 21, 2023 ET
Q. Is my gift tax deductible?
Yes, your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will receive an email confirmation that may serve as your receipt for tax purposes as well as a formal acknowledgement from Archbishop Broglio.
Q. What forms of donations are accepted?
MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express donations can be made on the AMS Giving Day site. Gifts of checks or cash can be sent directly to the AMS at the following address:

Please include a note with the donation or on the memo line indicating that the gift is intended for the AMS Giving Day.
Q. Can I make donations via a mobile device?
Yes! Simply visit https://givingday.milarch.org.
Q. Can I send a gift by phone?
Yes. If you would like to make a gift by phone on or before July 21, please call (202) 719-3622.
Q. Do I need to create an account with GiveGab?
No. You do not need to create an account to make a gift. The benefits of creating an account include having your tax receipts collected in one location, being able to track your donations, follow the charities you support, and engage in future volunteering and donations. Your tax receipt is emailed immediately upon processing your donation.
Q. Can I pre-schedule a donation for AMS Day of Giving?
Yes, pre-giving will commence on 7 July 2023.
Q. Will I receive a receipt for tax purposes?
Yes. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift.
Q. Is there a minimum gift?
There is a $5 minimum donation.
Q. Where does my Giving Day gift go?
The AMS Day of Giving this year will focus on supporting the Missionary Initiative. This initiative aims to help Catholic faith communities in military installations by fostering a sense of belonging and inspiring missionary discipleship among young adults in the military.
Q. Is my payment secure?
Absolutely – the AMS Giving Day is facilitated by GiveGab, a company who has partnered with Stripe, a PCI Service Provider Level 1 (the most stringent level of certification possible) to process all gifts made through GivingDay.org. Read through Stripe's security documentation online.
Q. What if I already made a gift to the AMS this year?
Thank you for supporting the AMS in her mission to serve those who serve! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size on July 21st. We also need your help to promote the AMS Giving Day to others. We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Resource Toolkit on the site.
Q. Does it cost anything to give through Giving Day? How much of my donation will the AMS receive?
There is a 3.5% campaign management fee from all donations. Credit Card processing fees are an additional 2.5% + $0.30 for all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover).
